Julian is a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group and a member of the Banking and Asset Finance Team. He specialises in debt and equity financings, including bank lending and taking security, bond issues, repackagings, project finance, private equity and fund finance, Cat Bonds, securitisations, asset finance, IPOs, NASDAQ listings and rights issues.

Julian has been consistently ranked as a leading lawyer in the Cayman Islands in all of the top global directories since 2004. In the 2008 edition of Chambers Global market sources praised Julian for his advice on Corporate and Finance law, emphasising his excellent marketing capabilities. In PLC Which Lawyer 2008 he ranked as Highly Recommended and was described as “the go-to specialist for Securitisation.”

On qualifying in 1994, Julian worked initially at Clifford Chance in London, which included a nine month Secondment to Goldman Sachs, moving to Freshfields in 1998. He moved to the Cayman Islands in 2000 where he worked for another major Cayman Islands law firm for nine years as an Associate and a Partner, before joining Appleby as a Partner in 2010.
